Born in October, 1970,
in Tampa, Florida, Ibarra wanted to be an artist from an early
age. Encouraged by family and teachers, she studied music
and art through high school, and then sought her degree in
Fine Arts at the University of Florida. In college she pursued
a rich and varied course of study including photography, printmaking,
drawing and painting. She graduated with honors in the summer
of 1993.
Since moving to Atlanta, Ibarra has been perfecting her painting
skills with her Antigua still lifes and figural works. She
paints long hours in her studio at home, and manages to find
time to travel with her family. "My extensive travel
through Latin America has enhanced in me an appreciation for
the evocative nature of the everyday object. My still lifes
attempt to convey this sensuality."
Ibarra' s paintings now hang in many
galleries and private collections
throughout the United States and Canada.
